Charles (Charlie) Howard Higgins, III, 83, died peacefully Monday, January 22, 2024, at home with his loving wife by his side,

The Rome, GA native was born on July 20, 1940, to the late Charles H. Higgins, Jr., and Clara Dell Cochran. Charlie was a 1958 graduate of Darlington School in Rome and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University. Charlie worked in Medical Sales for more than 50 years.

Charlie earned his private pilot's license and had a passion for flying. He loved playing golf. He was a member of Skidaway Island Methodist Church, The Landings Club, Kiwanis, Landings Automobile Society, and the Mustang Club.

Charlie leaves behind his wife, Joan "Joannie" Nicholson Fish: daughter, Shannon Higgins Reddish (Ronnie L., Jr.); son Charles "Chad" H. Higgins IV (Carol); brother, Carey Thomas Higgins (Marlena); seven grandchildren: Siara Coad (Jason), Ronnie "Trey" L. Reddish, III, Jamie Harmon (Ben), Kelsey Beckham (Daniel), Whitney Anne Reddish, Joshua Cooper, MacKenzie Embrey (Mitch); eight great grandchildren, soon to be nine.

A Memorial Service will be held at Skidaway Island Methodist Church on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
